Workshops
We organize workshops themed around nature-based play and Waldorf education from time to time. Information about our first workshop below. We will share information about future workshops here.
Workshop 1
Title: Nature connection and early childhood
Date: Oct 12, 2019
Time: 10am-11:45am
Venue: Cubbon Park, close to Band stand.
Speaker: Our main speaker for this workshop is Ms. Sithara K, who is an early-childhood educator at Creative School, a holistic school for children, parents, and teachers, inspired by the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. Sithara has been with Creative for 6 years and practises nature-based play and activities with young children. She is the facilitator at the ‘Play healing’ centre of the school.
Overview: In her talk, Sithara will share her experience of the importance of nature-based play in early years. Specifically she will address two questions: why is free play important? Why be close to nature? There will also be some toddler-friendly activities.
This workshop is free for all. Please RSVP here if you wish to attend. Children are welcome to join, and if they do, we recommend both parents to come (so at least one parent can listen to the speaker). There will be snacks and tea/coffee, and fruits for children.
